How to sign a PDF without printing it

  1. Choose a PDF, or drop it on the page. It opens in your browser.
  2. Draw your signature in the box with a finger, mouse or trackpad. Or switch to Type and write your name.
  3. Tap the page where the signature goes. Drag it onto the line, and pull its corner to make it bigger or smaller.
  4. Add today's date if the form asks for it, then press Download the signed PDF.

An example

The sample is a made-up one-page service agreement with two signature lines. Draw a signature, tap just above the Client line, then press Add today's date and drag it onto the Date line. The download is the same agreement with your signature and the date on it.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. There's no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on pages or signatures.

Can I still select and search the text?

Yes. Blackbar adds your signature on top of the page and leaves the rest as it was, so text you could select before is still text.

Can I sign on my phone?

Yes. Draw with your finger in the signature box, then tap the page where it goes.

Can I add the date?

Yes. Press Add today's date and drag it next to your signature.

Can I sign more than one page?

Yes. Go to the next page with the arrows and tap where the signature goes there too. Initials work the same way: draw them small and place them on each page.
